Today was a rough day. I feel like I have been kicked in the stomach and the feeling won't go away...

Anyway.

On a more positive note, Jevon and I went to the Skyvue Drive-In Theater tonight and saw Mall Cop (funny) and The Unborn (stupid). We also spotted a falling star right before the movie started which was kinda neat.

I made brownies! Ghirardelli brownies. And they were sooo good. I would love to say I made them from scratch, but I think these would beat homemade brownies any day. Look for this box and make them ASAP!

See this? It was 19 degrees outside this morning. And see my mileage? 7 is supposed to be lucky, right? Maybe this means I will have good luck today or maybe this week??? And Cosmo--that is by far the best station on Sirius satellite radio.

Saturday

We saw Gran Torino last night and oh my goodness was it good! Even if you never ever go to the movies, make a point to at least see this one. It was so good!

When I head to Victoria in a few weeks, I will be getting my haircut. Right now my hair goes down to about the middle of my back and I feel it's time for a chop. Here are some of my ideas:

(I like the length of random girl, the layered look of Jessica, and I would like a long version of Nicole). Thoughts???

And last but not least, here is my outfit for Legally Blonde The Musical:Legally Blonde

My freshly done nails. I thought for a second about getting hot pink tips and then I thought, "no--I don't want to look like a stripper." So, I decided to go ahead and go the French route.

And speaking of nails, here is one of my all-time favorite YouTube videos:

Today was a gorgeous day! I took this picture out my sunroof as I was going down the road. I think it got up to 75. It was nice and breezy and cool.

Dash does not normally play on the stairs. The only time he really ventures up there is when my family comes to visit and then after they leave. I guess once they leave, he feels the need to make sure they really are gone and not hiding from him. One day after everyone had left, Dash was nowhere to be found. I finally found him laying on the futon upstairs.

Undomesticated

Or not...

You know your cooking is bad when your husband gets up from his plate and begins to barf immediately into the closest open container possible. Thank goodness there was a trashcan right there. No time to make it to a toilet!

Grilled chicken isn't hard to mess up, right? Wrong.

Meet my new gadget. So far I am loving it. However, on Monday I was thisclose to banging my head against a wall because apparently me, my computer, and the iPhone were not all in sync.

We went to Odessa for the day to pick up our new gadgets and see My Bloody Valentine--in 3D. Nothing like a bullet, flying glass, blood, or an axe coming straight at your face. Anyway, I liked it. You should go see it, too!

Now, I have been to Odessa a few times and hadn't really noticed that there are giant rabbits around town that are all painted differently.

Me: Why are there rabbits everywhere?

Honey: Because it's West Texas.

Me: Hmm. Ok.

This is what Wikipedia has to say about these rabbits:

The jack rabbit has become the symbol of Odessa. This true South Plains animal has burro-like ears and a protective coloration which blends with the sand and dry grass of West Texas. His long legs can allow him to run as fast as 45 miles per hour. He is hunted by greyhounds. The Native Americans prized him for the food and fur. The rabbit was commonly used for food by many during the Great Depression. Beginning in 1932, Odessa held a rodeo for roping rabbits. In one competition, cowgirl Grace Hendricks roped a rabbit from horseback in five seconds and beat her male competitors. The unusual rodeo ended in 1977 because of objections from the Humane Society. Many businesses and residences about Odessa display models of rabbits.

I learn something knew every day. I also insisted that one of these awesome rabbits be my picture for the day.

Matt is in People Magazine!

I have been following Matt Logelin's blog for about 10 months. Matt lost his wife the day after their daughter was born. If you have a moment, take a minute and read about his journey. It is heartwarming, heartbreaking, and makes me appreciate Jevon a bit more each day.

My sister-in-law's Grandmother died a few days ago and her funeral was today. Funerals are never fun, however, when I walked in I couldn't help but notice all the quilts that were draped over the railing up at the altar. I think there were 10 total. I thought of MY Great Grandmother/Big Meemaw right away. She made this quilt for me and I am glad I have it as a reminder of her.

And see this little square? This little piece of scrap material is from an awesome jumper my Mom made me when I was younger. It's pretty, huh?

If you will notice, Scout is a tad bit blurry. That is because he turns his head when he sees me coming with the camera. The only way I can catch him, even if for a split second, is to say in a really high pitched voice, "Scout do you want a TREAT?!?!?!". Click!

I was feeling a little crafty and decided to do something with these paperweights I found at Dollar Tree. And on a side note, if you have never been to a Dollar Tree, do yourself a favor and check it out. It is nothing like the others (Dollar General, Family Dollar, etc.). Everything in this store is actually $1.00. They have cute containers for storing things, scrapbook stuff, and lots of other things that I don't need, but always wind up getting. Ask my Mom! She will agree with me 100%!

Anyway, here are the final products. 1 for my office at work and 1 for my craft room at home.

Occasionally, my home decor projects may show up on here as part of my 365 Project. I have had these letters hung up for a few weeks in our dining room, but just took this picture. They were originally gold, but Jevon painted them black. I think they look so much better!

I was catching up on my Google reader and saw that Layla over at The Lettered Cottage used the letters "EAT" in one of her design layouts. Neat! Check out her blog if you get a chance. She has one of the best decorating blogs I have come across and you may even see her on the upcoming season of HGTV's Design Star!

I sometimes don't have the most interesting days, so I may resort to pictures of my doggies. Consider yourself warned. Here is my very photogenic Dash-a-rooni.

I tried out my new polish that I blogged about here. Not too purple, not too brown, it's just right. And the pedicure felt oh so good. A perfect ending to a shitty morning.
