I am officially a college student again. Sort of. I registered today to take a Digital Photography class during the fall at New Mexico Junior College and I am so excited! It's 1 night a week from 7:00-10:00pm. At the end of the course, the description says I should be able to:
• explain and apply a basic understanding of a digital camera’s features and controls.
• explain and apply some key terms and concepts to look for in a digital camera manual.
• discuss the advantages and limitations of digital photography
• describe the principles, terminology, and applications of color theory.
• appropriately demonstrate the use of digital cameras and associated computer hardware and software for creating, modifying, and producing images for print, World Wide Web, Virtual Reality, DVD, and other digital media.
• achieve, when working with digital photography software, attain an effective color balance in their images and optimize them for print output.
• explain and accomplish specific aesthetics associated with digital photography including the manipulation of images for enhanced design.
• demonstrate appropriate techniques for framing subject matter, shooting an artistic photograph, and adjusting the digital image to produce a high quality photo print.
• analyze ones own and others’ digital photography needs in order to determine what equipment would be appropriate to meet those requirements.
• develop an electronic portfolio that consists of all class projects, reflections, and a variety of print and non-print photography resources.
Class starts August 18th!
