Ohhhh just kiddin'. If anyone knows me well enough, they know I wouldn't be caught dead in a minivan (sorry to any of the minivan drivers out there who may be reading this--they just aren't my cup o' tea). Minivans are like Mom jeans.

They kind of just go together and I can't bring myself to do either.

I ordered this polish today and am super excited to get it in. It's between gray and beige. I think it looks more green? Either way, I can't wait to get it in and try it out on my toes! I spotted it on AOL's homepage last week and according to them, this "greige" is going to be a hot color this fall.

Not a whole lot of progress made, but I did get the curtains hung. It's hard to tell from the picture, but the curtains match the bumper perfectly. I'm pretty happy with how it's coming along.

I never thought I would be so excited about finials, but I am and I think these go great in the room.

This bathroom is in the nursery. It's pretty much done. I'm kind of regretting not painting it. At the time, I felt like I needed to hurry and make a decision because painting needed to be done before we could tile and I just couldn't do it. I had no idea what I wanted to do, so I just opted to not paint. I've got towels at the monogram shop to hang on the towel bar and this is on order from Etsy (except it will say Logan) and will hang on the far wall:

It was close to 10:00 when we woke up (which was wonderful considering I was wide awake at 5 am yesterday morning- on a SATURDAY!!!). Anyway, Jevon cooked breakfast out on the patio this morning. Yum!!! He and David cooked on it last weekend--Hibachi style. I would have loved to have gotten a picture of that!

Banana Crumb Muffins

I had plans to run home and watch Part 2 of The Real Housewives of New Jersey Reunion (I'll text you soon Paige so we can discuss!!). And then I saw these:

Banana Crumb Muffins

Ingredients

1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
3 bananas, mashed
3/4 cup white sugar
1 egg, lightly beaten
1/3 cup butter, melted
1/3 cup packed brown sugar
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
1/8 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 tablespoon butter

Directions

Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). Lightly grease 10 muffin cups, or line with muffin papers.
In a large bowl, mix together 1 1/2 cups flour, baking soda, baking powder and salt. In another bowl, beat together bananas, sugar, egg and melted butter. Stir the banana mixture into the flour mixture just until moistened. Spoon batter into prepared muffin cups.
In a small bowl, mix together brown sugar, 2 tablespoons flour and cinnamon. Cut in 1 tablespoon butter until mixture resembles coarse cornmeal. Sprinkle topping over muffins.
Bake in preheated oven for 18 to 20 minutes, until a toothpick inserted into center of a muffin comes out clean.

They are soooo good! I'm on my second one as I type this.

We got to see our little guy yesterday. The ultrasound took about an hour and the little stinker had his foot and hand in front of his face the entire time. I was hoping to get a really good picture of his face, but he just wasn't feeling it I guess. He's weighing in at 3 pounds 8 ounces and is right on track.

Jevon and I went for the anatomy scan on June 23. WE left the office knowing that our little one was healthy and HE left knowing what our little one was. I had an envelope in my purse and had Jevon write on the card what the baby was and had him seal the envelope. He handed it to me and well...I lasted about 5 hours. When it came down to it, I did not have a preference. I just want a healthy baby. That's all I have ever wanted. BUT...I just had to know. Who was I kidding?

Most of my family had planned on coming up this weekend for a pool party (which got canceled because it has been raining non-stop) and we figured we would share the news with everyone here.

We ordered a cake and had the inside of it dyed, so that when it was cut into, everyone would know...

Annnnnd...IT'S A BOY!!!

We couldn't be more thrilled and it was so great having both of our families here to share this with in person.

Ramblings on Mother's Day

I spent last Mother's Day semi-pregnant. I was in that stage of being pregnant, but not really. If that makes any sense? My betas were increasing but not like they should. 99 --> 163 --> 230. It was pure torture. I knew it wasn't going to work, but the Dr. still gave me hope and I hung on to that with everything I had in me. If I had taken a pregnancy test it would have said "pregnant" or given me two lines or whatever but things weren't chugging along like they should have been.

It was a day I was dreading and it took everything I had in me to get through it. You know those days where if you cry that morning, it's easy to cry the rest of the day? That's how that day was. I had already cried that morning and then when we went to celebrate all the Moms, I was on the verge of tears the whole time. Ugh.

This Mother's Day was different. Yes I got cards and well wishes and all that good stuff, but I felt something even greater. When we got home that night, I felt a little flutter in my tummy--like something brushed up against my insides. I have never felt such a thing and even though it was brief, it was so neat. I remember thinking, "There you are. Thank you."

On a side note, I'm going to try really hard to not make this blog Baby Central. I am thrilled even though it still has not sunk in 100%. I still have not had any sickness. A few headaches now and then, emotions that I never expected (seriously, who cries at an On Star radio commercial?), and being tired. I will not be finding out what we are having until November. I don't care what we have. I am just grateful for this baby and can't think of a greater surprise in the world that is so worth the wait than finding out if a little boy or girl will be joining our family this Fall.

That's about all friends. I apologize for the delay in blogging. Our Simply Sassy business keeps me pretty busy and combined with work, there just isn't much time for anything else. Guess I need to work on that a lil' better!

Well, she did! They were on my porch when I got home today and I've already had 4. Ahhhh...what a way to end the week!

3/10/10 (4w6d)-A couple of days ago, Susan told me she had lost 13 pounds. 13! And I had only lost 5. In almost 1 month—5 measly pounds. I am 10 or 11 days late, ta-tas are sore, quite a bit of low back pain, lightheadedness, metallic taste in my mouth, and I am bloated. 4 nights ago I laid down to go to bed and my heart rate would not slow. My blood pressure was fine, I was picturing myself somewhere nice, and it was still racing. None of this added up. My period has been late before and showed up as soon as the thought even crept in my mind that maybe this month would be it!

So, today I got to Big Spring 30 minutes early and decided to buy a test at Dollar Tree. I never buy tests. I quit buying pee sticks a long time ago. Even when we went through in vitro and everything else, I refused to pee on a stick because as long as I never saw just one line, it meant there was still hope. But, today I did and I don’t know why. I grabbed a cup from the break room and then headed to the bathroom, preparing myself all the while and just being thankful I paid $1 and not $14 for this little stick.

No sooner than I squirted 4 drops, 2 lines show up. SHUT THE FRONT DOOR. I grabbed the box and made sure my eyes were not deceiving me. I tore the box open and looked on the inside to make sure those directions matched the directions on the back. I double checked again to make sure 2 lines indeed meant ‘pregnant’. And there they were—2 pink lines as dark as could be. I checked again and again (and again).

I sent Jevon a text real quick that said “omg call me now.” And he did. And he said “that’s good!!” And then in his next breath said, “Does that mean we get to kick Nutrisystem?!” I had all these creative things planned on how I was going to tell him when/if this day arrived and had envisioned in my head of how this would all unfold and well, that went out the door in a split second. He got a text--how cute and creative! I called the Dr. and left a message because oh my goodness I never expected this. After this, I had to sit through a 2 hour meeting (don’t even ask me what it was about because I don’t have a clue). I stopped by Wal-Mart on my way home and bought 4 more tests-different brands. When I walked up to the counter to check out, the lady grabbed her microphone and said, “I need a price check” and then laughed. What a comedian.

I got home and did the other 4 tests. 2 had errors (too much urine or something) and the other 2 were positive. I’ve checked them I don’t know how many times just to make sure. I keep waiting for “SIKE” to show up in small letters and the lines to disappear.

(Yeah I peed on those and took a picture AND posted it. Sue me.)

After 2 years of trying all sorts of stuff, sticking myself with shots (and Jevon sticking me with shots), many many tears, an impending surgery, and $25,000 later—this happens. Never in my wildest dreams. I am still in shock. I am excited, relieved, nervous, scared, hopeful, uncertain, in disbelief, and a million other things all rolled into one. Mostly shock. It still hasn’t sunk in (probably won’t for awhile).

3/11/10 (5w)- I had orders to get my blood work done this morning just to confirm that what I saw yesterday was indeed what I thought it was. And it was. My beta HCG level was 3,180. Last time I went through this, my level never got over 230. The nurse is guessing that I am around 6 weeks. She scheduled me to have blood work again on Monday to make sure my HCG is rising.
I want to shout from the rooftops how thrilled I am, but I know better. I am completely aware that this can be ripped from me at any given moment. It has before and I was heartbroken. I don’t know what I will do if that happens again.

The next 4 days are going to be the longest.days.of.my.life.

3/15/10 (5w4d)- I went in for my blood work at 8:30 this morning. This time my diagnosis said ‘pregnancy’. Last year when I went through all this mess, the diagnosis was always ‘threatened abortion’. I was so relieved to see ‘pregnancy’. I don’t know why, I just was.

Last Thursday the nurse called me with my results within 2 hours. Today, 7 hours had passed and I still had not heard anything. I was preparing myself for the worst and convincing myself that my level had dropped and that the Dr. needed to review my results and that she was busy and they would get to me at the end of the day. I finally grew a pair and decided to just call. Imagine my relief when the nurse said, “I’ve been waiting for them to come in and I keep checking but they haven’t sent it yet. “ Big sigh. I gave her the hospital number and waited an hour and 15 minutes for her to call me back. I always try to read her voice, but I never can. She just said, “It went up to 9,356!” I wasn’t really prepared to hear her say that. I had my list in front of me of questions to ask about what to do next (discontinue progesterone, will I have to have a D&C, could I go ahead and go through with the surgery I am scheduled for, etc.). BUT, I didn’t have to ask her any of that. I had no questions written down to ask her if she had good news for me because I did not prepare myself for that.

So, I am now scheduled for my first ultrasound on 3/22/10. A whole week away. I am trying not to stress or worry about the what-ifs and live in this moment and embrace the fact that I am indeed pregnant as of today and just enjoy it.

3/22/10 (6w4d)- I threw up twice last night. I convinced myself that it was due to Perez’ Tamales that I had at Trade Days. Not a good idea. My appointment was at 10:30 and we didn’t go back until close to 11:20. My nerves were shot. I had prepared myself for the worst and expected to see an empty sack and to just be thankful that this cycle only cost us $90. No sooner than she had the ultrasound going, I saw the little flutter and my eyes started to tear up. The Dr. said, “There’s the heartbeat—do you see it?!?!” I think I was in shock. Again, I hadn’t prepared myself for GOOD news and was just at a loss for words. Dr. P was even able to tell which ovary produced the egg (she said the left one gets the gold star). She typed “HI MOMMY AND DADDY” on the screen and we left the office with 3 pictures of our little sprout, which by the way is the size of half a sunflower seed (7mm). We were informed that we should see a “gummy bear” next time.

It was such an amazing thing to watch the heartbeat. 125 beats per minute and I am measuring at 6 weeks 4 days with a due date of November 11th. Dr. P said that once a heartbeat is detected, there is an 80% chance of a live birth. I am scheduled again for April 9th and 19th for ultrasounds (if everything looks good at those appointments, the percentage goes up to 97%) and will then be released to my OB/GYN.

I am content, I am at peace and I am relieved at this point. I am still in a little bit of shock, but I feel a little bit of weight has been lifted off me and that I can relax and get a little excited.

3/23/10 (6w5d)- I woke up last night to a bloody nose. Ew. I’m still not convinced I have another human being growing inside me. Other than being tired, I haven’t felt bad at all. I know I should knock on wood, but I almost want to feel SOMETHING so that it makes this all a little more real. I told Jevon that yesterday ranked up there with the day David Copperfield made me disappear and when I met Matchbox Twenty and when I graduated from college and of course our wedding day. There are lots of other special days, but yesterday was just surreal.

4/9/10 (9w1d)- We had our second ultrasound today and got to see and hear the heartbeat. 185 bpm and the little critter was moving around quite a bit (I told Jevon that it was doing the Macarena or was just saying, “Feed me Cattle Barron!”—which it got later, by the way). It was the neatest thing to see. It’s amazing to me that so much has changed in the 18 days since our last ultrasound. You can make out the head, body, arms and legs. I was in awe. I think Jevon was, too. I’m unable to put into words how today felt. It was a relief and just an awesome experience. It became more real to me.

I am scheduled for another ultrasound with my RE on 4/19/10 and unfortunately Jevon will be living the NASCAR dream (again) and won’t be able to go with me. That will also be my “graduation day” and I will be released to my OB. I am scheduled for a Nuchal Translucency (NT) Scan on 4/28/10 to assess the risk of Downs and other chromosomal abnormalities. Really though, I decided to have it so I could have another opportunity to see our little sprout (or Peanut, Miracle, or Gilbert depending on who you are talking to).

I still have not had any morning/day sickness. I feel tired a lot, but that’s about it. No complaints from me! You know what though? At this point I could have my head in a toilet and probably still have a smile on my face. If it means me being pregnant, I will gladly take it over the alternative.

My MAC had to visit the Geek Squad. Apparently the hard drive crashed and they were unable to recover anything from my computer. Yep--all my pictures are gone...everything. Thankfully I have this blog so I am able to at least save the pictures that I have uploaded on here.

Anyway, things have been busy around here. Jevon's trike is done so we took a ride to Big Bend over Easter. More on that in a later post. We went to a FiberMax banquet last week (made the 1 Ton Club Again!) and got to see the Cactus Cuties perform again. And like the first time we saw them, they were AMAZING.

Also, I have some news I need to share tomorrow, but everything I have written regarding that is saved up at work on a flash drive. Hopefully tomorrow I will get that posted. Until then, I'll leave you with a picture from the banquet:

The Fun Kids Club had a meeting to discuss our route, where we are staying, and all that good stuff for when we take our trip the end of this month. We solved all of the town's problems and actually got some stuff done! We will be staying 2 nights at the Gage hotel in Marathon, 1 night at Lajitas Resort & Spa, and 1 night at the Hotel Paisano in Marfa. I think it will be nice and relaxing and I'm really looking forward to it.

Star Struck

You know those moments you have that you want to last forever? Well, that was this past weekend for me. I've had a few of those moments before. There was one when Jevon and I snuck off during my Mom's wedding reception to walk down by the lake. We could hear Keith Urban's "Making Memories of Us" playing from the reception area and we started dancing there on the boardwalk. Just us. There are others, but that came to mind first. It's times like those when I wish time could just stand still.

Anyway, by now everyone should know how much I love San Antonio. That's where I went. I absolutely love it there. And I had a good reason to go (many, actually). About a year ago I began reading a blog called Resolved 2 Worship.

Alyssa is such an inspirational person and takes awesome pictures. After reading her blog, Mom and I gathered that she lived in or around San Antonio. Sooo, I emailed her a few months ago to see if she would be willing to take my sister's (Katie) senior pictures and she agreed! I think I did a little dance inside. I know. I'm weird. That's ok. And for your information, my Facebook status on Saturday said, "I feel like I just met someone famous." It just felt so cool meeting her in person and I am so looking forward to the pictures she took of Katie.

I spent a good hour or so staring out the hotel window after I checked in and got settled. It was beautiful. Friday we walked around the Riverwalk. Saturday I had Panera for the first time. Yum. We went to The Container Store and Charming Charlie. By then it was time for Katie's pictures so we headed to the Japanese Tea Garden (wanna see it in the spring time? click here to see pics from a previous visit)...

...and then on to Sunset Station.

Saturday we had dinner at the Magic Time Machine, walked the Riverwalk again, had a drink at Swigs, and called it a night. Sunday Mom and David took me to the neatest flea market.

I bought an old door, a plant urn ($1), 3 books ($.25), a bathroom shelf, and some vintage Valentines. I could have wandered around there for hours.

All in all, a wonderful weekend. One that went by way to fast. Right before I pulled into our driveway I looked up and saw this:

It was far too large to get in one picture, but it was an entire rainbow. I saw where it started, the arch in the middle, and where it ended. So cool.

Long Time No Blog

I don't think I am even going to attempt to catch up on the past few months, so I'm just going to give a little rundown on what's been going on--Letterman style. :)

10. Christmas was great. My Mom, David, and sisters all came up. I was not in the spirit this year. I had too many things going on and just felt like I wasn't doing Christmas up like I always do. I didn't even have my tree up until December 22 and that was only because my sisters were here and they decorated it for me (along with the rest of the house). Bless them. Everything was put up by the next week. I just wasn't feelin' it.

9. Jevon and I spent New Years in Ruidoso. Just the two of us and the dogs. It was awesome. We spent our days by the fire, shopping, sightseeing, and even went on a "sleigh" ride. I love the time we get to spend together alone. He makes me feel loved and I happen to love that feeling.

8. I put Scout in a bathing suit. This may not be worthy of its own number, but I don't care. Poor little guy. It was a little snug and I'm pretty sure he knew it was for a girl.

7. I found my dad on Facebook. It has been 9 years since I talked to him. It was nice to hear from him and I guess we will see where it goes from here.

6. Susan and I got our own booth at our local Trade Days! This has been such an exciting thing for us and part of what is keeping me so busy. I guess that is a good thing though.

5. Jevon's trike is almost ready. We can now join the crew for their annual March bike trip. Jevon is understandably hesitant to venture off too far, so we plan to ride to and around Big Bend. Should be fun. I'm looking forward to it. Oh, and I bought my first ever Harley shirt. LOL. Wait. Make that 3 shirts, 1 vest, 2 jackets, and 2 hoodies.

6. Susan and I had a little party of sorts a week or so ago. We had Silpada jewelry, Just by Chance jewelry, Scentsy, and Custom Vinyl Designs. It was pretty much an excuse to get a bunch of girls together to eat, shop, and talk. We had tons of fun and got to buy a lot of neat things, too! Sweet SugarBelle made these cookies for us--she is like the Cookie Goddess:

5. My Mom, David, and my Aunt Karen and Uncle Terry came to visit the end of January. We had so much fun. It was relaxing and just an all around great visit. I love seeing my family. I was so sad when Sunday rolled around and everyone had to leave. Spending time with them is priceless.

4. Jevon signed up to listen to a presentation when we go to Lake Brownwood (May) about buying property there on the lake. In exchange for listening, we got a 7 day cruise. I have never been on one and am excited about going. We have no idea when or where, we just know we have this voucher and plan to put it to use sometime.

3. I signed us up for Nutrisystem. Our food should be here next week. I know Jevon is thrilled about this (ha!).

2. Valentine's Day Eve was wonderful. Jevon's Mom and Dad invited us and Raymond and Susan to have dinner at the Country Club in Hobbs. The food and drinks were great and the company was even better. Oh, and my Honey sent me roses, too.

1. We had our appointment with the new RE. I think I love her already. She spent nearly and hour and half with us and even called me today to go over some other things and talked to me for over 20 minutes. She has been a breath of fresh air. I feel that I can trust her judgement and am ready for whatever comes our way (I think). Our next step is another HSG, laparoscopy, and ovarian drilling. I've had an HSG before, Paige filled me in on what a laparoscopy is and I probably shouldn't have Googled ovarian drilling, but that's ok.

So, that is the past few months or so in a nutshell. My camera would not automatically download pictures to my computer so I was having to do it manually which was a pain. Plus, I kept thinking about how far behind I was on everything and was afraid to play catch-up for fear I might miss something, which I'm sure I did. If I think of something, I'll let you know later :)

I can't even begin to explain just how busy I have been lately. I feel like I would probably lose my head if it weren't screwed on. A few things:

1. Our message boards have been very well received. Want to see them? Click here. We even got invited to our local Trade Days to share a booth with a lady that owns a cute shop here in town. We will be there this coming Friday-Sunday and our goal is to have 100 boards ready to sell. I think we are sitting at 67 as of right now. Hmmm. Susan and I are starting to think we may have bitten off more than we can chew. We both have full time jobs and making our magnetic boards has become a 12am-6am job. No, not really, but pretty close! I was so tired the other night, I fell asleep with my eyes open. True story. I was watching tv and I guess my mind shut off and I jumped as if I were starting to doze off, but my eyes were open the whole time.

2. We are set to see a new RE February 12th. That was the soonest she could get me in. She use to be in practice with my current RE and then went off on her own. She is supposed to be great, so we shall see. I have the next few months to relax and enjoy the holidays! Speaking of switching, I also changed who does my lashes. They look lots better now! :)

3. My photography class is still going good. I feel like I have learned all that I am going to learn in regards to using my camera and learning all the settings. We are having a photography show tomorrow at the museum and of course my pictures wouldn't open so that my professor could print them off and of course Hobby Lobby was completely out of white mattes for the black frames we needed to get. So, my pictures won't be in the show. I'm a little bummed, but still plan on getting a couple famed.

4. Don't go see Paranormal Activity. It was lame. I felt like I was getting motion sickness and I just thought it was dumb. They seriously need to consider handing you a Dramamine along with your ticket to get in. Probably because I read so many reviews that said it was "the scariest movie of all time" and then was completely let down. Save your money and go see Law Abiding Citizen. It was sooo good. Love me some Gerard Butler. Yum.

That's what's going on in a nutshell. I haven't forgotten my 'lil ol blog and have every intention of catching back up within the next week. One other thing--am I the only person on the planet that did not read the Twilight books and did not care much for the movie and has no plan to see New Moon? I don't think Robert Pattinson is hot at all. Am I missing something? Just wondering..

We ate lunch at the Peach Tree (that's Courtney walking out). It was a neat little restaurant that also had a gift shop. Yummy food (even though a bit pricey).

We spent a large part of the day shopping and also made time to stop back by Bejas for a drink (or in my case 3). The only difference today was that I tried the Prickly Pear Margarita and a Peaches 'N Cream Martini (in addition to a Peach Margarita). I could have done without the Prickly Pear, but the martini was GREAT! And I sure felt all of that when we got up to leave.

I think their library is so pretty!

I have a knot in my throat. I feel sad, sick to my stomach, pissed, frustrated, and about a million other emotions all rolled into one. It's hard to even put into words how much this hurts and there is not a damn thing I can do about it.

This wasn’t meant to be I suppose. I have had absolutely no signs that this would work, so I guess that is a plus. A little cramping, but nothing major. God was good to me. He gave me nothing to read into and get my hopes up and He knew I would have a supportive group of people around me this weekend.

It’s hard to not feel responsible when something like this happens (or doesn’t happen, depending on how you look at it). It’s completely my fault, not Jevon’s. It’s all me. And that makes me sad. There is absolutely nothing he can do to make this better or worse. He does his part and is supportive of me and that is enough. I can’t help but feel like I am failing him, though.

I guess it’s only natural to think about the things I should (or shouldn’t) have done differently. Maybe I shouldn’t have gotten that massage last weekend. Apparently this releases bad toxins and then those toxins attack the embryo. Hmm. Good to know. The massage was awesome though.

Or maybe I shouldn’t have gotten my nails filled or that pedicure. Inhaling the fumes could not have been good, right? However, this new OPI Suede polish is really pretty. It looks great on my nails and my toes! Or maybe I shouldn’t have gotten my hair colored on Wednesday? In my defense, I did specifically ask the nurse about this and she said it was fine. Guess I am safe there! Or what about that pumpkin spice cappuccino I drank last weekend? Caffeine is a no-no and I wasn’t thinking (obviously). It was very yummy, by the way.

Maybe I should have eaten more organically and drank more water. Maybe I should have avoided picking up Scout or taking hot showers. Maybe, maybe, maybe…

OR it could be very simple. The embryos just plain sucked (just like the embryologist said, except he was a lil’ more eloquent than that) and nothing I could have done would have changed that.

That’s all I’ve got. I’m on my way to hang out with 3 of my favorite people.

I'm heading to Fredericksburg Friday to meet up with 3 girls I've known since 4th, 5th, and 6th grade (Natalie, Courtney and Crystal). There were 7 of us that ran around together when we were younger. We managed to stay friends through junior high, high school, and college (with ups and downs, of course). They are the type of friends where you can go a little while without talking and then pick up right where you left off. They are also the kind of friends that are always there for you no matter what. They make me laugh and I feel most comfortable around them. I know we have all made other friends because that's what you do when you get older-you move to different cities, start jobs and families, and meet new people. But, these girls are the ones that I will always go back to no matter what. I love em' like family and can't tell you how excited I am to see them.

I spent tonight looking through old pictures and getting stuff ready for the trip. I have pictures dating back to 1990. I had a "party" and 5 of us girls were sitting on my Mom's couch with 1 guy. It was hilarious to look back on these.

We will be missing:

Paige (lives in California and already has big travel plans coming up), Julie (moving into a new house and has triplets- 'nuff said), and Kandis (diabetic and too ill).

It should be a great time. I will definitely have lots of pictures to share when I get back. Stay tuned! :)

I need to tell you what happened while we were in Dillard's. It's quite comical and irritating all at the same time. Susan and I were walking around when I spotted this:

It is beautiful in person. I can just picture it with a pair of jeans and my new boots (I'll get to those in a minute). So anyway, while I am trying this beauty on, a saleslady walks up and here is what followed:

Pushy Salesperson (PSP): "Those are hot right now. You should really go ahead and buy that if you are interested. They are going fast and it won't be here if you come back."

Me: "Yeah." (holding fur-beauty in hand and beginning to walk away to browse the other racks)

PSP: (following me to a different section of clothes) "Would you like me to hold that over here for you?"

Me: "No, I really need some jeans."

PSP: "You have jeans on."

Me: "Yes, but I would like some different jeans. Can you point me to where some are?"

PSP: "We have some over here." (begins to show me Ralph Lauren Mom Jeans)

Susan: "Oh no. Not those. We don't like those."

Me: "Are there any upstairs?"

PSP: "Yes. Would you like me to hold that while you go up there to look?"

Me: "No. I would like to try this on WITH the jeans." (begin browsing other racks, far from where I first picked the fur-beauty up)

PSP: (follows along carefully watching my every move)

PSP: "Ma'am, if you go upstairs you will need to leave that down here."

Me: "Why?"

PSP: "Because it's a fur."

Me: "And?"

PSP: "Fur can't be taken upstairs because of the sensors attached to it."

Me: "That's funny. I'm not leaving the store." (I hang the fur up and begin walking toward another section of clothes)

Susan starts looking around and I spot another salesperson (Kay). I explain to Kay that there is a fur over there (pointing to where it is) and that I would like her to ring me up. She goes and gets the fur and I hear PSP asking Kay, "Is she buying that?" When Kay returns, I tell her that that is what happens when you follow people around while they are trying to shop. Talk about annoying.

So in addition to my new furry treasure, I got these boots in brown and also a pair in black:

I wore my lucky socks and went in feeling that things were going to work in my favor (at some point, they have to right??). And left with a tear stained face and feeling like I had been kicked in the stomach. Now I am googling like crazy as if that is going to make any difference or give me any sort of peace.

We had our FET today. My fear was that our 2 embryos would not thaw properly. It never once occurred to me that they may be of poor quality if they did survive the thawing. I guess I just assumed that if they were good enough to make it to the thaw process to begin with, they would be good enough once thawed.

The embryologist informed me that the 2 we had were of "not great" quality. They were frozen at the blastocyst stage (back in April) and through the freezing and thawing process have accumulated some dead cells. Once they begin to thaw, they should begin to expand. One had begun to expand at 50% (they like to see that number much higher) and the other had not budged much.

I told myself that I would not share any of this stuff this go 'round but at this point I just don't care. Writing makes me feel better and that's why I have this blog. It gives me an outlet. I keep this blog as a journal of sorts even if it's made up of mainly pictures. I can look back on any given day and have an idea as to what was going on with me and my life. It's also a way to keep my far away Mom, sister, and grandma (and possibly other family--I have no idea who looks at this) up to date on my happenings. Anyway, I got off on a tangent. I didn't want to have anyone worried about what was going on (given what happened last time) even though I knew everything would be fine this time. I don't think there is any convincing my Mom, she would inevitably worry.

I had reservations about even trying to squeeze in a cycle because I knew how busy I would be this month. I'm glad I decided to. Everything related to this cycle has been a breeze. Yes, I have had up to 4 patches stuck to my tummy at a time (I'm now down to 2), shots in the tummy (did those for about a month and am now done) and shots in the bottom (on day 4 of these and will continue for the next 10 days and hopefully beyond if this happens to work), 8 oral pills (steroid, antibiotic), and another that is taken vaginally (gross I know--it's to help increase my estradiol since the patches weren't working all that great in the beginning) but it has not been bad at all. It sounds worse than it is. I guess because I have our previous cycle to compare to it, which was a nightmare. I have plenty of other things to distract myself, which keeps my mind off the not so fun issues we are dealing with. I always work much better under pressure, so when I have lots to do, I get things done and don't feel overwhelmed. Not sure if that makes any sense :) I just make lists and keep my day planner at my side at all times. I have plans, things to do, classes and trainings to attend, and a girl's weekend that I am really looking forward to. All I'm saying is that there is no perfect time to do this kind of stuff. I have a life to live, a job, and a husband and dogs to tend to. It's easy for this junk to become all consuming and I refuse to let that happen.

I find out the results of this cycle on the day that I leave for my girl's weekend. I debated whether to do it that morning or wait until the following Monday. I originally had it set for Monday because if this doesn't work, I didn't want it to ruin my weekend. Then I got to thinking rationally and figured that I would NEED to know because if it doesn't work, I can drink whatever I want, I won't have to enlist a friend to stick me in the ass with my shots, AND what better company to have around during such a trying time? So, I will find out next Friday (the 23rd) if this has all been for naught or not.

Whew.

That got a little longer that I expected. Oh and since I am stuck in this bed until Saturday morning, I plan on updating the blog with some daily pictures for my 365 Project. Maybe not tonight though, I'm a tad bit exhausted.

Instructions: Take a close up picture of someone and then one of an object that I will be "advertising." It should look similar to a magazine spread when we are done. I will need to take multiple pictures of each so that I will have options to pick from and to play around with.

My thoughts: I hope Jevon is ready to sell some aftershave! Kidding! I have no idea who I'm going to take a picture of or what I am going to try to "sell"!

We still have lots more magnetic message boards to make. Some are drying right now. I'll post pics when those are done. It was a good day and I had lots of fun!

Steph came to visit us this weekend. We had such a great time! She had a few requests:

1. See Couples Retreat at the movies

2. Have a home-cooked meal

3. Make red velvet cupcakes

4. Wash clothes

5. Swim

And I am happy to say we accomplished all those things except the swimming part (it was way too cold) and I'm not sure I got the home-cooked meal down, but I tried!

Ft. Worth

I am in Ft. Worth right now for a training (will be here until Friday). A co-worker and I ate at The Purple Cow for lunch. If it weren't the middle of the day and I didn't have training to return to, I might have had one of their "adult shakes." The food was ok, I've had better. Or maybe I just didn't order the right thing.

Anyway, after training I headed to Target for a binder, some hi-liters, and a spiral. I came out with those 3 things and 1 shirt. Not like me at all. I would normally come out with all that, plus a stack of greeting cards, maybe a book, some body wash, and other crap I don't need. Then, I headed to Garden Ridge and would you believe that I walked out of there empty handed? I think I might have a fever...

I love browsing around on Etsy.

I came across Regretsy earlier and thought some of the stuff on there was too hilarious to not share. Apparently this site finds the most random things on Etsy and puts them all in one convenient spot for us to ~~laugh~~ look at.

Or how about a prairie dog foot on some black beads? Cute! I just got a shirt at Target that would go perfect with this!

Canton

Susan and I went to First Monday Trade Days in Canton last Thursday and got back this evening. I really don't even know where to begin with explaining this place. Canton is a town of about 6,000 people. During Trade Days (first weekend of each month) it is said to grow to 300,000 people. Craziness. Over the course of our days there, we managed to cover maybe half of the grounds. Anything you can possibly think of---they have it. I had an absolute BLAST! We had so much fun and I don't think I haven't laughed as hard as I did in a long time. Anyway, there were lots of signs that said "No photos" so I did as I was told and didn't take any pictures. I did take one while on the trolley heading back to our car to give you a very tiny idea as to the number of people there:
